Meaghan
Willis

Meaghan Willis was born in Mississippi and grew up in Alabama, North Carolina, and Ohio (just north of Cincinnati, which almost counts as the South!). That blend of locations and experiences shaped the Southern style and charm throughout her work today.

Raised in a family surrounded by dance, math, design, and advertising, Meaghan developed both a creative eye and an analytical mind. She began her career as an aerospace engineer, working first in bulk material handling and then for a global logistics leader. She took a break from engineering to raise her son, but took on a role with a remote branding agency, managing a team of programmers, data engineers, and writers for AI-assisted content generation.

Meaghan founded Lucky 13 Letters in 2016 as the perfect marriage of engineering precision, creativity, and personal expression. She quickly built a reputation in the greater Memphis area as a calligrapher and design specialist with both a flair for creative expression and an impeccable sense of detail.

Meaghan has been featured in Southern Bride, Green Wedding Shoes, Style Blueprint, and Junebug Weddings.

When she’s not designing bespoke wedding details, Meaghan enjoys life at home in Olive Branch, Mississippi, with her husband Nick, their son, and their beloved dog, Olive.

Behind the Business

Founded in 2016, Lucky 13 Letters began with Meaghan’s love of calligraphy and the hand-crafted details she created for her own wedding the year before. What started with table numbers, home décor, and wedding welcome signs quickly grew into a passion for elevating every detail of the wedding experience.

Over the years, Meaghan’s focus expanded from hand lettering to the full spectrum of wedding design, from heirloom-quality paper goods to large-scale installations like custom-built seating chart walls.

Today, Lucky 13 Letters is dedicated exclusively to serving full-service brides who value a cohesive design process. With a blend of artistry, precision, and personal care, Meaghan creates timeless details that bring each couple’s vision to life.
